WHO WE ARE

In the Fall of 2015, Team Lillylulu was formed as a walk team, a fundraising team and volunteer vehicle to support T1D focused causes that harness the power of research, advocacy, care and community engagement to advance life changing breakthroughs for T1D. Over the following five years, Team Lillylulu transformed into an advocacy and awareness team, a fishing team (Big Game Battle), and a 100-mile Trek team through its formation of the Dad’s 100 Mile Trek in partnership with No Wake Lifestyle (nowakelifestyle.com) on Cape Cod. All of which to date, translates to fundraising and donations of over $5,700,000 toward T1D causes. This includes participation in the T1D Fund (t1dfund.org), a venture philanthropy fund focused on advancing private and public investment to create a market in T1D and attract the investment required to find a cure for T1D.

 

While the disruption of Covid-19 curtailed our 100 Mile Trek platform, it did not dampen our passion to make an impact. In 2022, the decision was made to form the Lillylulu Foundation, a 501c3 public charity that would allow for greater direct investment and impact for the T1D cause, with a focus on care. The Lillylulu Foundation’s partnership with NCO as well as local business leaders and philanthropists has yielded life-changing results for T1D patients and families based upon the programs we have developed in conjunction with Boston Children’s Hospital, Outer Cape Health Services and Joslin Diabetes Center.

 

OUR MISSION

The Lillylulu Foundation, Inc., (LLF) is a 100% volunteer 501c3 that has been created to harness the generosity of T1D donors and influencers to have an efficient, meaningful and direct impact on the T1D community. The impact we strive for is to be a contributor to address systematic deficiencies in care (physical and mental) by improving outcomes for those diagnosed with T1D. As parents and friends of T1D’s, our mission is rooted in providing direct gifts focused on impactful and actionable outcomes. We believe that providing direct gifts in focused initiatives will allow the LLF to use its strengths of PASSION and DISCPLINE to monitor the intended and actionable outcomes of those we choose to partner with. We seek partners and organizations with innovative ideas and those areas that we believe are underfunded within our foundation’s focus to create relationships that allow us to drive influence and positive outcomes for our T1D community. Making as great an impact as possible is at the core of why the LLF has been created by the family of a T1D young lady named Lilly.
